As part of our new Global PR series, we continue to share the experience and knowledge of our partners around the world. This week we’ve partnered with the amazing Viroslava Novosylna, founder and CEO of SLOVA Tech PR, an agency originally based in Kyiv focusing on tech businesses, IT, start-ups, and VC funds.

Here she shares her insights on PR in Central and Eastern Europe:

🇺🇦 Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the war has understandably been the main focus for Ukrainian media, but we’re now seeing journalists covering other news. Key tech topics include investment in Ukrainian companies, expansion of products and services and representation in the global IT arena, as well as changes in the global tech industry

🇺🇦 Key business and tech media titles include AIN, Forbes Ukraine, NV, Ukrainska Pravda and Liga.net

🇵🇱 Poland has become a key market for companies looking to expand their products and services and is now one of the largest media markets in Central Europe for tech and business news coverage

🇵🇱 Key tech and media titles in Poland include Wprost.pl, Forbes Poland, Business Insider Polska, Gazeta Wyborcza and WP PL. Journalists tend to prioritise local companies or those with local offices and prefer comms in Polish - press releases in English won’t cut it!

🇷🇴 The Romanian media market is one of the fastest growing in South East Europe. Most business and tech media offer an English language version and actively cover global news

🇷🇴 TV remains the most popular medium with leading broadcasters including Pro TV, Atena 1 and Kanal D

🇷🇴 Leading online media titles in the business and tech space include Forbes Romania, libertatea.ro, DCnews and gandul.ro

🇨🇿 While most media in the Czech Republic, dubbed ‘the Silicon Valley of Eastern Europe’, publish content in the national language, you can opt for English in the tech and business space

🇨🇿 Local is still key though! Czech media prefer a story about a company or a start-up directly relevant to the Czech Republic

🇨🇿 Key business and tech media titles include Novinky.cz, Česká televize, Forbes Česko, Hospodářské noviny, iDNES.cz and CzechCrunche
